Agnes Wood

Benson, NC: Mrs. Agnes Barbour Wood, age 91, of 2058 Godwin Lake Rd. died Thursday at Wake Medical Center in Raleigh. A graveside service will be 2:00PM Sunday at Roselawn Cemetery in Benson. Officiating will be Rev. Robert Capps. Mrs. Wood was born September 2, 1920 in Johnston County to the late W.H. and Bettie Strickland Barbour. She was also preceded in death by her husband, J.W. Wood, Jr. Mrs. Wood was a homemaker, a member of the Meadow Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary, and a member of Trinity Baptist Church. Surviving include Children & Spouses, Betsy W. & Neil Clark of Winston Salem, Patsy W. & Sonny Surles of Benson, Faye W. Parker of Benson, and John W., III & Sue Ann Wood of Benson. Sister, Eunice B. Langdon of Four Oaks; Brother, Joe Mack Barbour of Four Oaks; Seven Grandchildren, Neil Clark, III, Suzanne C. Wilcox, Matthew W. Surles, Mary S. Raynor, John Alan Parker, John William Wood, III, and Kate Wood; Five Great Grandchildren, Ben Wilcox, III, Henry Wilcox, Ellie Wilcox, Martha Wood Clark, and Jane Barbour Clark. Family will receive friends 5:00PM to 8:00PM Saturday at the home on 2058 Godwin Lake Rd., Benson. Flowers are welcomed, however family suggest memorials be made to Trinity Baptist Church, % Jean Lee, 8515 Meadowbrook Rd., Benson, NC 27504, or one’s favorite charity.
