Alene Pope Lewis

Coats, NC:  Mrs. Myrtle Alene Pope Lewis, age 87, passed away on Friday, June 14, 2019 at Smithfield Manor Nursing Center in Smithfield.  Funeral Service will be   11:00 AM, Tuesday, June 18, 2019 at Rose & Graham Funeral Chapel in Coats.  Officiating will be Rev. Allen Gupton.  Burial will follow in Lakeside Memorial Gardens, Angier, NC.                  Mrs. Lewis was born on February 7, 1932 in Harnett County to the late Samuel and Annie Mae Williams Pope. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Talton Lewis, grandson, Jason Elliott Stephenson, son-in-law, James Barbour and siblings, Kathleen, Aaron, Johnny, Herbert, Raymond, Leon and Charles.  Mrs. Lewis retired from the food service department at N.C. State University.  She was a member of  Full Gospel Tabernacle Church.                Surviving include her daughter, Kay Barbour; son and daughter-in-law, Ricky and Kitty Lewis; sister, Barbara Gardner; brothers, Sherwood Pope and Sammy Pope all of Coats; grandchildren, Scott Lewis and wife, April and Vanessa Amick and husband, Don; great-grandchildren, Briana Amick Eller and husband, Jake; Justin Amick and Graylee Lewis; great-granddaughter, Haelyn Eller; many loving nieces and nephews.             The family will receive friends 6:00 PM-8:00PM, Monday, June 17, 2019 at Rose & Graham Funeral Home in Coats and other times at the home of Ricky and Kitty Lewis, 3557 Abattior Road, Angier, NC 27501.                         Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.roseandgraham.com              Arrangements are by Rose & Graham Funeral Home in Coats, NC
