Angier, NC: Mr. Alfred Leon Champion, age 70, of 88 Colby Lane died Tuesday, February 4, 2020 at Rex-Rehab Center in Apex. Funeral Service will be 6:00 PM, Thursday, February 6, 2020 at Rose & Graham Funeral Chapel in Coats, NC. Graveside Service will be held 11:00 AM, Friday, February 7, 2020 at Lakeside Memorial Gardens in Angier, NC. Officiating will be Pastor Eddie White.
Mr. Champion was born March 22, 1949 in Harnett County to the late Leon and Marie Jones Champion. He was preceded in death by the love of his life, Linda Mills Champion, grandson, Colby James Matthews, sister, Frances Starling and a brother, Steve Champion. Mr. Champion was the owner and operator of A L Champion Construction Company, INC.
Surviving include his children, Michelle C. Wortham and husband, Alan; Angela C. Lassiter and husband, Keith, Dawn C. Arnold and husband, Andy; grandchildren, Tori Matthews, Austin Matthews and wife, Xochil, Jordan Whittenton, Brea Whittenton, Hunter Lassiter, Kassidy Lassiter, Landon Arnold and Nolan Arnold; one great granddaughter, Addi; sister, Christine Howard; brother, Stanley Wayne Champion; several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends immediately following the service on Thursday at Rose & Graham Funeral Home in Coats and other times at the home.
