Anita Kaye Stover, born on May 31, 1949, in West Virginia, passed away unexpectedly at her home on April 20, 2025. Anita was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother whose love for her family was unparalleled.
She shared a beautiful marriage with her husband, David Stover, for an incredible 58 years. Together, they navigated life’s joys and challenges, demonstrating unwavering support for one another. Their bond was a testament to the power of love and partnership.
Anita was the loving mother of two children, David Stover, II, and his wife Sharon, as well as daughter Melissa S. Cutts and her husband David. She took immense pride in her role as a grandmother, cherishing every moment spent with her grandson, Casey Cutts, and granddaughter, Grace Stover.
In addition to her immediate family, Anita is survived by her beloved sister, Alice Bibbee, and brother-in-law, Lee, along with her sister-in-law Marsha Harper. She will also be remembered fondly by several nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews who were lucky to have her in their lives.
Anita's early life was marked by her nurturing spirit and zest for living. She had a deep love for reading and spent countless hours lost in the pages of her favorite books. Her affinity for animals was well-known, as her home was always filled with the warmth and companionship of her beloved pets. However, above all her interests, it was her family that held the dearest place in her heart.
Her parents, Robert Harper and Nellie Schoolcraft Harper; and her brother, Allen Harper, preceded her in death, leaving behind cherished memories that will continue to resonate in the hearts of those who loved her.
A visitation in honor of Anita Stover will take place on Saturday, April 26, from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the home of her son, David Stover, II, located at 137 Rustic Lane, Smithfield, NC 27577.
Anita Kaye Stover will be profoundly missed and lovingly remembered by all whose lives she touched.
