Annie Lee Tart

Benson, NC:  Mrs. Annie Lee Holmes Tart, age 94, of 304 South Pine Street died Monday, June 18, 2018 at UNC Rex Healthcare in Raleigh. A funeral service will be 3:00PM Thursday at the Benson United Methodist Church.  Rev. Al Hocutt and Rev. Brian Russ will officiate.  Burial will follow in Roselawn Cemetery.             Mrs. Tart was born February 29, 1924 in Johnston County to the late James Edward and Mamie Ryals Holmes. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert A. Tart, Sr., son-in-law, Jerome Wayne Ennis; sisters, Katie Bellino, Vera Julian and Mabel Johnson; and brothers, Milton "Buddy" Holmes, Ray Holmes, Ed Holmes, Howard Holmes, and Bobby Holmes.  Mrs. Tart was the secretary and bookkeeper for her husband’s insurance agency, Robert A. Tart Insurance, when he first started the business.  She was also a homemaker and a member of Benson United Methodist Church.             Surviving are children, Patsy T. Ennis of Kure Beach, Janet T. Russ and husband, Bill, of Lexington, SC, and Bob A. Tart, Jr. of Benson; sister & brother-in-law, Jean H. & P. D. Lucas of Benson; grandchildren, Tammy Dean, Brian Russ, John Russ, and Stephen Russ; and great grandchildren, Hannah Dean, Eowyn Russ, Leah Russ, Allison Russ, William Russ, Madeline Russ, and James Russ; and numerous nieces and nephews.             The family will receive friends at Benson United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall from 1:30PM to 2:45PM Thursday prior to the service.             Memorials may be made to the Benson United Methodist Church, P.
