Annis Cutchin Barbee

Coats, NC: Annis Cutchin Barbee, age 58, of Johnson Road, passed away on Tuesday, March 26, 2024 at her residence, surrounded by her loving family. Celebration of Life will be held 3:00PM Sunday, April 7, 2024 at Ebenezer Presbyterian Church in Coats. Officiating will be Rev. David Smithey.

Annis was born September 10, 1965 in Wake County to Aubrey Karl Barbee, Sr. of Garner, and to the late Barbara Perkins Cutchin Barbee. She retired from the State of North Carolina working in Human Resources and staff training. Annis was a silly, fun, young at heart, Andy Griffith loving person. Her family described her as their greatest cheerleader, confidant, a spirit lifter, a tutor, a mediator, a close friend, and more than anything an actual blessing from God. She was a member and elder of Ebenezer Presbyterian Church.

Surviving, in addition to her father, are her life partner and caretaker, Cathy Johnson of Coats; sister and brothers, Karl Barbee, Jr. of Moscow, Pennsylvania, Chris Rollins and husband, Marion of Wallace, Jim Barbee and wife, Diana of Pinehurst; niece, Courtney Justen and husband, Cees; nephew, Cameron Rollins and wife, Katelyn; great-nieces and nephew, Carter Justen, Colbie Justen, Jayce Rollins, and Ryleigh Rollins.

The family will receive friends immediately after the service in the church fellowship hall.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN, 38105.
