Arthur Edward Olsen

Mr. Arthur “Chip” Edward Olsen, age 57, passed away on Wednesday, May 22, 2024 at UNC Johnston Health in Smithfield surrounded by his loving family. A Memorial Service will be held-6:00 PM Saturday, June 1, 2024 at Rose and Graham Funeral Home in Benson. Officiating will be Pastor Eddie White. 

Chip was born on October 24, 1966 in Phoenix, Arizona to the late Arthur Thomas Olsen and to Patricia Riley Olsen. He was preceded in death by his father. Chip was a mechanical engineer and a manager at Kind Snacks. He was known as a dedicated and strong compassionate leader and a great provider. He was someone that could “make it happen” for anyone and anything. An excellent engineer and mechanic, he could fix anything. He could light up a room and make anyone feel welcome and could make anyone feel like his friend. He had a passion and enthusiasm for firearms in both collecting and maintaining. He made great memories shooting at the gun range with his sons, boating, and fishing. Chip loved all of his animals especially, his dog, Odin. More than anything else, he loved his family. 

Survivors include his wife and soulmate of 32 years, Linda Elizabeth Olsen; his loving children, Thomas Arthur Olsen, Brittany Elizabeth Olsen Childers and husband, Nicholas, and Brandon Thomas Olsen; mother, Patricia Riley Olsen; and his sister, Pattilynn Barton. 

The family will receive friends immediately following the memorial service at Rose and Graham Funeral Home in Benson.
