Avery McLamb

August 17, 1924 — March 8, 2012

Benson, NC: Mr. Avery Lee McLamb, age 87, of 2682 NC Hwy 242 South died Thursday, March 8, 2012, at SECU Hospice House in Smithfield. Funeral service will be 3:00 PM Sunday, March 11, 2012, at Banner Chapel Advent Christian Church. Officiating will be Rev. Glenn Fell and Rev. Glenn McCullen.  Burial will follow in Young Family Cemetery.             Mr. McLamb was born August 17, 1924 in Johnston County to the late John Bradley and Ethel Wood McLamb. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Pauline Moore and a son, Woody Ray McLamb.  Mr. McLamb was a farmer and a member of Banner Chapel Advent Christian Church. He served in the U. S. Army during the Korean Conflict and was a member of American Legion Banner Post 109.             Surviving are Wife, Vernice Jones McLamb; Daughter & Son-in-Law, Kim & Jerry Jackson of Dunn; Sons & Daughters-in-Law, Tony Lee & Debbie McLamb of Benson, Travis Lee & Jerri Lynn McLamb of Coats, and Tracy Lee & Lori McLamb of Dunn; Sister, Catherine Hudson of Myrtle Beach; and Grandchildren, Katie McLamb, Cacey Jackson, Brett McLamb, Hunter Jackson and Amberly McLamb.             Family will receive friends at Rose & Graham Funeral Home in Benson from 6:00PM to 8:00PM Saturday, March 10, 2012.
