Benjamin Byrd

Mr. Benjamin Neil "Ben" Byrd, age 37, died Saturday, January, 12, 2019, with his mother by his side, following a courageous battle with cystic fibrosis since birth. Graveside funeral service will be 3:00 PM, Tuesday, January 15, 2019 at Harnett Devotional Gardens, Dunn, NC. Pastor Eddie White will officiate.             Ben was born on March 8, 1981 in Johnston County to Deborah King Byrd of Willow Spring and the late Eddie Holt Byrd. He was also preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Ruth Young King and paternal grandparents, Henry Holt and Thelma McGee Byrd. Ben worked at several local Food Lion grocery stores and loved the beach, the NC State Fair and going to hobby shows.             Surviving in addition to his mother include is maternal grandfather, Alton Lavelle King; aunts, Lori K. Stancil and husband, Kenny; Judy Bishop and Ruth Byrd; many cousins and friends.             The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM- 2:30 PM,  Tuesday prior to the graveside service at Rose & Graham Funeral Home in Benson, NC.             Flowers are welcomed; however, memorials may be sent to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, 7101 Creedmoor Road, Suite 130 Raleigh, NC 27613 or to the Ronald McDonald House, 101 Old Mason Farm Road, Chapel Hill, NC 27517.             Condolences may be sent to the family at www.roseandgraham.com             Announcement are by Rose and Graham Funeral Home in Benson, NC.
