Betty Ann Ingram Dowling, 82, of Machias Maine, passed away on December 13, 2021 from a long battle with Thymic carcinoma since January 2018. Burial will be held in Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
Betty Ann was born in Goldsboro, NC on September 16, 1939 to the late Paul Borden Ingram and Mamie Mitchell Ingram. She was a devoted wife, daughter, sister, aunt, mother, grandmother and retired bookkeeper. Spending her time in Maine where her husband retired and in North Carolina where much of her family still resides. Her favorite thing to do was to go to the beach with her sister and best friend, Pauline. Her last time at the beach was this past October where she was able to share it with her niece Connie, nephew Harvey and wife Tammy, and family friend Nancy, and her daughter Tina.
She is survived by her daughter Paula Allen of California and husband Gregory; daughter Tina Macaluso of North Carolina and husband David; son Henry Eley of Maine and life partner Candy Price; seven grandchildren, Adena, Greg Jr, Rachel, Breanna (husband Addison), Nathan, Felicia, and Jeremiah; two great grandchildren, Auriana & Milia; and nieces, Connie Bishop, Trudy Williams, Maggie Poole (husband Rick), Marie Wilson; and nephews Harvey Bishop Jr. (wife Tammy), Paul Ingram III (wife Karen), James Ingram (wife Lynnie). And many more friends and family members!
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Dowling; her daughter Lorinda Ann, great-grandson, Jameson Cole, two brothers, Louis Ingram and Paul Ingram Jr; and two sisters, Pauline Bishop and Helen McIntosh.
