Betty Frances Lee Young

Dunn, NC: Mrs. Betty Frances Lee Young, age 89, passed away on Thursday, November 14, 2024 at her residence surrounded by her loving family. Funeral Services will be 2:00PM-Monday, November 18, 2024 at Smyrna Free Will Baptist Church, Dunn, NC. Rev. Richard Whitman and Rev. Billy Nowell will officiate. Burial will follow in Roselawn Cemetery in Benson, NC.

Mrs. Young was born on July 11, 1935 in Johnston County, NC to the late James Paul and Lettie Catherine Barefoot Lee. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Davidian Young, sons, Mickey Young and Gary Young, and brothers, Paul Lee, Jr., Jake Lee, Bruce Lee, and a sister, Sudie Lee. Mrs. Young was a retired beautician, and was also a Teacher's Assistant at Meadow School. She was a member of Smyrna Free Will Baptist Church. 

Survivors include her sons, Tony Young and wife, Sandra; and Marty Young and wife, Wanda; grandchildren, Majesta Carter, Jarret Young, Casey Johnson, Corey Johnson, and Wesley Johnson; great-grandchildren, Dakota Carter, Marlee Carter, Chandler Johnson, Brecklee Fleming, Brodey Johnson, Rylan Johnson, and Raegan Ward; great-great grandson, Reece Johnson; sister, Phoebe Bass; several nieces and nephews. 

The family will receive friends from 12:45PM-1:45PM, Monday, November 18, 2024 at Smyrna Free Will Baptist Church 11415 NC Hwy 96 S, Dunn, NC 28334, and other times at the home of Tony Young 85 Eldridge Road, Dunn, NC 28334.

The family wishes to thank Betty Ann Hernandez, and the staff of Lilies of Hope for their loving care shown to Mrs. Young.
