Coats, NC: Mrs. Betty Bowling Gregory, age 82 died Wednesday at Oak Hill Assisted Living Center in Angier. Funeral Service will be 3:00 PM Sunday, May 6, 2018 at Coats Community Church in Coats. Officiating will be Rev. Rodney Wilson. Burial will follow in Harnett Devotional Gardens in Dunn.
Mrs. Gregory was born on September 8, 1935 in Johnston County to the late Roy Edgar and Onnie Smith Bowling. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Albert Gregory, a son, Charles Blake Gregory, one brother and nine sisters. Mrs. Gregory was a homemaker and was also known for her delicious coconut cake, peach cobbler and many other desserts at Lane's Seafood and Steakhouse near McGee's Crossroads. She was a charter member of Coats Community Church and was also a member of the Swinging Elders.
Surviving include sons and daughter-in-law, Lane and Teresa Gregory of Angier and Larry Gregory of Coats; grandchildren, Adam Gregory and wife, Rachel Gregory; Elizabeth Gregory; and Stacey Gregory all of Angier; sister, Lucille Warner of Michigan; great-granddaughter, Lillian Claire Gregory; many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends 1:45 PM - 2:45 PM prior to the service at Coats Community Church in Coats. Following the committal service at the cemetery the family invites you to join them at Lane's Seafood and Steakhouse, 275 Bowling Springs Drive, Angier, NC 27501 for a time of visitation and fellowship.
Flowers are welcomed; however, memorials may be made to one's favorite charity.
