Smithfield:  Mrs. Betty Rosene Parker Wood, age 87, of 146 Galilee Road passed away on Saturday. Funeral Services will be 2:00PM Tuesday at Rose & Graham Funeral Chapel in Four Oaks.  Burial will follow in the Juniper Church Cemetery in Four Oaks.  Officiating will be Revs. Billy Nowell and  Carolyn Sims. Mrs. Wood was born on January 26, 1928 in Johnston County to the late Hezekiah Carl and Emma Frances Parker. She was preceded in death by her husband, Larry Whitfield Wood,  son Danny Whitfield Wood, sisters, Anna Massengill and Alean Holloway and brother, Coolidge Parker. Mrs. Wood retired from the blanket wiring department at  Fieldcrest and was a member of Corinth United Methodist Church. Surviving include daughters, Faye Wood Frix and husband, Tommy of Smithfield; and Carolyn Wood Allen and husband, Jimmy of Garner; grandchildren and spouses, Cheri S. Pollard and husband, Lane, Robin K. Stephenson and wife, Jan, Larry J. Allen, Melinda A. Katz and husband, Adam, and Joy F. Hicks; great-grandchildren, Heather Crocker, Victoria Crocker, Joshua Katz, Rachel Katz, Jacob Allen, Lindsey Allen, and Tinsley Moore, brother, Julius Parker, many nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends from 6:00PM until 8:00PM Monday at Rose & Graham Funeral Home in Four Oaks and at other times at the home. Flowers are welcomed, however, the family suggest memorials to the SECU Hospice House of Johnston County, PO Box, 1376, Smithfield, NC 27577 or the American Cancer Society, Johnston County Unit, PO Box, 1544, Smithfield, NC 27577.
