Benson, NC: Mrs. Beulah Mae Clifton Johnson, age 94, of 11098 NC Hwy 50 North died Friday, August 17, 2018, at the SECU Hospice House in Smithfield. Funeral Service will be 3:00PM Friday, August 24, 2018, at Rose & Graham Funeral Home Chapel in Benson. Rev. R.B. Parrish and Brother Mack Fowler will officiate. Burial will follow at Roselawn Cemetery.
Mrs. Johnson was born November 18, 1923 in Johnston County to the late Victor E. and Flossie Parrish Clifton. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Harvey Artemis Johnson; daughter, Carolyn Sue J. Raynor; son-in-law, Bill Raynor; sisters, Leona Penny and Alene Fowler; and brothers, James Clifton and Thomas "Tom" Clifton. Mrs. Johnson was a homemaker, farmer, and seamstress. She was a charter member of Friendly Chapel Church where she loved serving the Lord. Her gentle kindness and encouragement was a Blessing to her family and all who knew her.
Surviving are daughter, Sylvia J. Johnson of Wake Forrest, daughters and sons-in-law, Janet and Ronnie Wood of Garner and Angela and Marty Hughes of Woodstock, GA; sister, Myrtle C. Kornegay of Smithfield; grandchildren, Brent Wood and wife, April, Victor B. Raynor, Lisa Wood Stainback and husband, Colin, Tracie J. Shoe and husband, Jerry, Angie Raynor McHargue and husband, Chris, Maegan Hughes, and Logan Hughes; five great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at Rose and Graham Funeral Home in Benson, 1:30PM - 2:45PM Friday, August 24, 2018, prior to the service and other times at her home.
Flowers are welcomed; however, memorials may be made to Friendly Chapel Church, 11455 Hwy 50 N., Benson, NC 27504.
