Billie Barbour

Benson, NC: Mr. Billie Barbour, age 85, of 4412 Elevation Road died Thursday, January 31, 2013, at Liberty Commons Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. Funeral services will be 2:00PM Sunday, February 3, 2013, at Elevation United Methodist Church. Officiating will be Dr. Reginald Ponder. Burial will follow in Banner Chapel Church Cemetery. Mr. Barbour was born August 4, 1927 in Johnston County to the late Edgar and Sarah McLamb Barbour.  He was also preceded in death by his wife, Wilma McLamb Barbour, and sister, Ruby Lee Stephens. Mr. Barbour served in the U. S. Navy and was a life-long farmer.  He was a member of Elevation United Methodist Church where he served in many capacities.  Mr. Barbour was a charter member of Elevation Fire Department.  Surviving include Daughters & Sons-in-law, Patsy & Dan Bazan of Benson and Donna & Gary Hall of Benson; Son & Daughter-in-law, Tony & Jeanne Barbour of Dunn; and Grandchildren & Spouse, Stephen Bazan, Kasey B. & Josh McComas, Nikki Hall, Kendall Barbour and Ashley Barbour. The family will receive friends from 6:00PM to 8:00PM Saturday, February 2, 2013, at Rose & Graham Funeral Home in Benson and other times at the home of Patsy & Dan Bazan, 1780 Federal Road, Benson, NC. Flowers are welcomed; however, memorials may be made to Elevation United Methodist Church Building Fund, 5101 Elevation Road, Benson, NC  27504.
