Angier, NC: Mr. Braxton "Brack" Hardee Johnson, age 91, died Wednesday, December 4, 2019 at Classic Care Assisted Living in Smithfield. Graveside Service will be 11 :00AM, Saturday, December 7, 2019 at Providence Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Angier, NC. Officiating will be Rev. Nadia Stropich.
Mr. Johnson was born April 14, 1928 in Johnston County to the late Rufus M. and Corinna Hardee Johnson. He was also preceded in death by his sisters, Eloise J. Lee and Maxine Johnson; brothers, infant, James Reid Johnson and Rupert Lacy Johnson; and special nephew, Jerry V. Johnson. Mr. Johnson was a long time farmer , who grew all kinds of vegetables, summer and fall, and always gave away at least as much as he might have sold. He turned to house painting as he aged as another vocation. Mr. Johnson was a life long member of Providence Presbyterian Church.
Surviving include his sister, Evangeline Lee of Four Oaks; nieces and nephews, Lou Ann Buck of Raleigh, Peggy J. Barnhill of Angier, Debbie Lee of Dunn and Eddie Lee of Four Oaks and Terry Clary of Harrisburg, NC; great-nieces and nephews, Trevor Buck of Raleigh, Annie Lewis of Angier, Shane Lee and Duane Lee both of Four Oaks; sister-in-law, Marilyn Johnson of Smithfield; and numerous cousins.
The family will receive friends immediately following the graveside service in the church fellowship hall and other times at the home of Peggy Barnhill, 33 Lexington Downs Drive, Angier, NC 27501.
