Carl Edward Caldwell, Sr.

Benson, NC:  Mr. Carl Edward Caldwell, Sr., age 77, of 937 Shade Tree Rd. passed away Friday, February 1, 2019 at Betsy Johnson Hospital in Dunn. Funeral service will be at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, February 5, 2019 at Rose and Graham Funeral Chapel in Benson. Revs. Kwan Kim and Tyler Moore will officiate. Burial will follow in Elizabeth United Methodist Church Cemetery in Smithfield.                 Mr. Caldwell was born March 11, 1941 in Logan County, West Virginia to the late Everette and Faye Caldwell. He was a proud US Army Veteran and member of the  American Legion Banner Post #109.  Mr. Caldwell was a member of Elizabeth United Methodist Church in Smithfield and worked at Dorothea Dix Hospital for 31 years as a steam plant supervisor.              Surviving, include his wife of 55 years, Judy M. Caldwell of Benson; children, Carl Edward Caldwell, Jr. and special friend, Leanne Shirley of Clayton, Stephen Frazier Caldwell and wife, Jackie of Holly Ridge; grandchildren, Kaitlyn Wallace and husband, Banks of Four Oaks, Adam Caldwell and wife, Sarah of Benson, Tyler Caldwell of Raleigh, Collin Caldwell of Newton Grove, Trista Thomas of Wake Forest, and Caleb Thomas of Wilmington; great-grandchildren; Savannah Matthews, Blakely Wallace, Finch Wallace, Blake Connery and Baby Braston Caldwell due in June; sisters; Shirley Beavers of Clayton, Lou Harvey of Massillon, OH, and Peggy Blair of Lyburn, WV; many special sisters-in-law; and numerous nieces and nephews.             The family will receive friends Monday, February 4, 2019 from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM at Rose and Graham Funeral Home in Benson and other times at the home.             Flowers are welcome; however, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 5171 Glenwood Ave. Suite 101, Raleigh, NC 27612             Arrangements by Rose & Graham Funeral Home in Benson.
