Carol Ann Evans Halstead

Surf City, NC- Mrs. Carol Evans Halstead, age 77, formerly of Spivey’s Corner, passed away on Wednesday, January 24, 2024 at Lower Cape Fear LifeCare in Wilmington, NC after a courageous battle with cancer.

Funeral Services will be 11:00AM Saturday, January 27, 2024 at the Rose and Graham Chapel in Benson, NC. Rev. Scott Johnson will officiate.  A Private Burial will follow in the family cemetery. Family will receive friends 10:00AM to 10:45AM at Rose & Graham Funeral Home in Benson prior to the service and other times at the home of Joe and Cindy Thornton’s, 501 W. Parrish Dr. Benson, NC.

Mrs. Halstead was born July 25, 1946 in Harnett County to the late James Evans and Annie Wood Evans.   She was preceded in death by her brother, Louis Evans.

Mrs. Halstead a woman of resilience, quick wit, and natural leadership. She was the owner of Country Clean, Inc. for 37 years when she sold the company.  Mrs. Halstead was a humanitarian who always put others before herself.  She served many people of the community with her donations to those in need. Mrs. Halstead loved collecting antiques, going to auctions, music, spending time with family, going to the beach, corvettes and fishing with her husband.  She and her husband were coat and tail. Mrs. Halstead enjoyed entertaining family, friends and retiring at the their beach home.  She loved to decorate for all the seasons, especially Christmas for the grandchildren. Mrs. Halstead made each holiday season special for everyone.

Survivors include her husband of 17 years, Harry Halstead; daughter Forest Seaton of Benson; son, Chad Halstead and wife, Kristen of St. Mathews, SC; son, Ian Halstead and wife, Amber Halstead of Clinton; sister, Cindy Thornton and husband Joe of Benson; grandchildren, August Pope, Paeten Halstead, Alex Halstead, Blake Halstead and Evelyn Halstead; sister-in-law, Nyra Evans of Texas; several nieces and nephews whom she cherished.

In lieu of flowers; donation may be made to Dr. Robert M. Fales Hospice Pavilion Lower Cape Fear LifeCare, 1406 Physicians Drive, Wilmington, NC; or to a charity of your choice in Carol's honor.
