Carol Smith Sawyer

Fuquay-Varina, NC: Mrs. Carol Smith Sawyer, age 82, of Wyndham Place Drive, passed away at her residence on Tuesday, December 20, 2022 surrounded by her loving family. Memorial Services will be held-11:00AM on Tuesday, December 27, 2022 at Providence Presbyterian Church in Angier, NC. Officiating will be Rev. Roger Korsten.

Mrs. Sawyer was born on November 28, 1940 in Beaufort County to the late Charles Louis and Helen Fortiscue Smith. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, David W. Sawyer. Mrs. Sawyer did many things throughout her life for work but remained a faithful wife and loving mother and was a homemaker always. She was a member of Providence Presbyterian Church in Angier, NC.

Survivors include her husband of 63 years, Ray Sawyer; daughter, Rae Reinink; grandchildren, George Sawyer and wife, Samantha, Avery Reinink, Jakob Reinink and wife, Alicia, and Janna Walton and husband, Jonathan; brother, C. Lee Smith; and sister, Helen Hardison.

The family will receive friends immediately following the memorial service at Providence Presbyterian Church.  

In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the church at 14664 NC-210 Hwy Angier, NC 27501 an/or Promedica Hospice Memorial Fund at 444 N. Summit St. Toledo, OH 43604.
