Benson, NC: Mrs. Carolyn Thompson Vinson, age 67, of 124 Pleasant Court Road died Wednesday, December 7, 2011, at Hospice of Wake County. Funeral services will be 11:00AM Saturday, December 10, 2011, at the Rose & Graham Funeral Home Chapel in Benson. Officiating will be Rev. Mike Courtney. Burial will follow at 1:00PM Saturday, December 10, 2011, at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, Fuquay Varina.  Mrs. Vinson was born December 9, 1943 in Johnston County to the late Fonnie T. and Elsie Holmes Thompson. Mrs. Vinson was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas E. Vinson, III, and a son, James Timothy Vinson. She worked in the Data Entry Department with the NC Department of Corrections and was a homemaker. Mrs. Vinson was a member of Hannah’s Creek Baptist Church. Surviving include Daughter & Son-In-Law, Tammy & Jonathan Hunt of Angier; Sister, Evelyn Castevens of Independence, Va., Brothers & Sisters-in-Law, Coy & Shirley Thompson of Newport, NC and Hugh & Yvonne Thompson of Clayton; Grandchildren & Spouse, Sonya & Craig Rooke of Fl. and Joshua Bryant of Norfolk, Va.; and Great Grandchildren, Cara Marie Rooke and Brylin Elizabeth Rooke. Family will receive friends at Rose & Graham Funeral Home in Benson 6:00PM to 8:00PM Friday, December 9, 2011.
