Charles Allen, Sr.

Four Oaks:  Mr. Charles Ray Allen, Sr., age 73, of 1554 Boyette Road died Monday at Johnston Medical Center in Smithfield. Funeral Service will be 11:00AM Wednesday at Rose & Graham Funeral Chapel in Benson.  Rev. Steve Lawson will officiate.  Burial will follow in Lee’s Chapel Advent Christian Church Cemetery in Four Oaks.               Mr. Allen was born January 29, 1938 in Johnston County to the late John Avery and Della Lee Allen.  He was a bus driver in the City of Washington, DC, and retired as a commercial truck driver.  Mr. Allen served in the U. S. Army during the Korean Conflict. Surviving include Son, Charles Ray “Chuck” Allen, Jr. of Cumming, GA; Daughters, Beverly Raye Allen-Brown of Coats, Julie Allen of Ocean City, MD, and Sherri Burdeshaw of Canton, GA; Sisters, Lanie King of Woodstock, VA, and Glenda Woodard of Dunn; Brother, Sherwood Allen of New Bern; 9 Grandchildren; and several Great Grandchildren.             Family will receive friends at Rose & Graham Funeral Home in Benson from 6:00PM to 8:00PM Tuesday.
