Benson, NC: Mr. Charles Pierce Parker, age 79, of 3111 Beasley Road, died Saturday at the SECU Hospice House in Smithfield. Funeral Service will be 11:00AM Wednesday at Holly Grove Advent Christian Church. Rev. Michael Bassett will officiate. Burial will follow in the Parker Family Cemetery, Benson.
Mr. Parker was born July 31, 1935 in Johnston County to the late Alex & Bettie Jane Beasley Parker. Mr. Parker was a retired sergeant from the North Carolina Department of Corrections. He was founder of the former Broadslab Riding Club and long term president of the William Franklin Parker family reunion. He enjoyed bowling, raising his beagles and hunting and fishing. He truly loved his family. Mr. Parker was attended of Holly Grove Advent Christian Church.
Surviving are wife of 60 years, Faye Dawson Parker; sons & daughter-in-law, Charles Gary & Leslie Parker of Hanover, Maryland and Jeremy Shane Parker of Benson; daughter & son-in-law, Pamela P. and Emmett Martin of Benson; grandchildren, Adrienne Rieken-Cote and husband, Timothy of Baltimore Maryland; Tony Christopher Byrd and wife, Cassie of Benson; Tracy Hudson and husband, Adam of Clayton; Tarah Alexander and husband, Terry of LaVista, Nebraska; Ashley Hoempler and husband, Christian of Georgetown, Texas; Restyn Martin of Benson; and Pierson Parker of Benson; two great-grandchildren, Liam Alexander and Calex Byrd; sisters, Myrtle Parker Norris of Erwin and Addie Parker Moses of Durham.
The family will receive friends 6:00PM-8:00PM Tuesday at Rose & Graham Funeral Home in Benson and other times at the home.
Flowers are welcomed, however, memorials may be made to one's favorite charity.
