Four Oaks, NC: Mr. Charles Irwin Davis, age 73, of 1 Bentonville Rd. died Friday at the SECU Hospice House in Smithfield. Graveside services will be 2:00PM- Friday at the Beasley Family Cemetery in Bentonville, NC. Officiating will be Rev. Jerry Burton.
Mr. Davis was born in New Hanover County on August 24, 1942 to the late Irwin Hughes and Pauline Beasley Davis. He was preceded in death by sister, Libby Yelverton. Mr. Davis was retired, had a career in banking and teaching, and was a member of Mill Creek Christian Church. Mr. Davis was also a US Air Force veteran serving during the Vietnam War as a Titan II missile commander. He was also a graduate of North Carolina State University Class of 1964.
Surviving include; daughter, Cynthia Davis Farmer of Holly Springs; son and daughter-in-law, Charles Edward Davis and wife, Angela Devine-Davis of Raleigh; three grandchildren, Michael Harrison Farmer, II, Elizabeth Byron Farmer, Christian Edward Davis; several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at Rose & Graham Funeral Home in Four Oaks from 12:00PM until 1:30PM prior to the service.
