Charles "Tony" Stewart

April 26, 1925 — December 29, 2016

Coats, NC :     Mr. Charles Anthony "Tony" Stewart, age 91, of 510 Fleming Road died  Thursday at Betsy Johnson Hospital in Dunn. Funeral services will be 11:00AM  Monday at the Coats Baptist Church. Officiating will be Rev. Jesse Mooney. Burial will follow in the Coats City Cemetery.             Mr. Stewart was born April 26, 1925 in Harnett County to the late Malcom C. and Ethel Avery Stewart. He was preceded in death by his wife, Anna Belle Jeffreys Stewart; sister, Dorothy Penny; and brothers, Malcom C. Stewart, Jr., and Franklin Stewart.  Mr. Stewart owned and operated C. A. Stewart Store, Feed, Seeds, & Fertilizer. He was a US Navy veteran of WW II and served as a Corpsman attached to the U. S. Marine Corps in the South Pacific.  Mr. Stewart was a member of  Coats Baptist Church.             Surviving include son & daughter-in-law, Charles Jeffreys "Jeff" & Linda Turlington Stewart of Durham; daughter, Tonya Ann Stewart of Prince Edward Island, Canada; grandchildren and spouse, William Jeffreys & Dianna Stewart of Florida, and Robert Anthony Stewart of Durham; great grandchildren, Cameran Jeffreys Stewart and Tyler James Stewart; and sisters, Grace Penny of Coats, Evelyn "Teeny" Upchurch of Buies Creek, Jane Verster of Apex, and Ann Stewart of New Bern.             Family will receive friends at Coats Baptist Church from 9:45AM to 10:45AM Monday prior to the service.             Flowers are welcomed; however, memorials may be made to Folds of Honor Foundation, 5800 N. Patriot Drive, Owasso, OK  74055 or to Coats Baptist Church, P. O. Box 297, Coats, NC  27521.             Arrangements by Rose & Graham Funeral Home in Coats.
