Chester Warren Johnson

Garner, NC:  Mr. Chester Warren Johnson, age 78, went home to be with the Lord Tuesday, October 1, 2019 surrounded by his loving family at his residence.  Funeral Services will be  11:00AM, Saturday, October 5, 2019 at Rose and Graham Funeral Home Chapel in Benson. Officiating will be Rev. Scott Betts and Mr. Carlton McDaniels.  Burial will follow in Burnell Baptist Church Cemetery outside Four Oaks, NC.             Mr. Johnson was born February 28, 1941 in Johnston County to the late Chester and Claudia Woodall Johnson. He retired in 1994 as Captain with the North Carolina Department of Corrections, then owned and operated Johnson's Painting in Garner, NC.  Mr. Johnson was a member of Burnell Baptist Church.             Surviving include his wife of 52 years, Ruth Anne Thornton Johnson; daughters, Angela "Angie" Johnson Lewis, and husband, Robert of Kenly and DeAnn Johnson Howell and husband, Chris of Benson; granddaughters, Brianna Nicole "Bri" Lewis and Charissa Blair Howell; sister, Annette Smith of Wilmington; brothers, James Johnson of Arizona and Joe Johnson of Four Oaks; many nieces and nephews.           The family will receive friends 6:00PM - 8:00PM, Friday, October 4, 2019 at Rose and Graham Funeral Home in Benson and other times at the home.           Flowers are welcome; however, memorials may be made to Burnell Baptist Church, c/o Mandy Davis, 643 Shade Tree Road, Benson, NC 27504.           Arrangements by Rose and Graham Funeral Home in Benson, NC.
