Christine Barefoot

Benson, NC: Mrs. Christine Manning Barefoot, age 87, of 1039 Woods Crossroads Rd died Thursday March 22, 2012 at the SECU Hospice House in Smithfield. Funeral services will be 11:00AM Saturday at Trinity Baptist Church in Meadow. Officiating will be Dr. Robert Cooke and Mr. Leonard Barefoot. Burial will follow in Roselawn Cemetery, Benson. Mrs. Barefoot was born August 8, 1924 in Pitt County to the late Rev. Leonard “L.B.” and Dollie Page Manning. She was also preceded in death by her Husband, James Noah Barefoot. Mrs. Barefoot was a second grade teacher in Harnett and Johnston Counties. She was also a homemaker, and a member of the American Legion Banner Post 109 Auxiliary. Mrs. Barefoot was a member of Trinity Baptist Church and its WMU, a member of Meadow Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary, and the Delta Gamma Honor Society. Surviving include Daughter & Son-in-law, Alice and Buck Parker of Newton Grove; Sons and Daughters-In-Law, James Barefoot and  Sandy Collins of Benson, Leonard Owen and Angie Barefoot of China Grove, NC, Christopher Wayne and Tammy Barefoot of Benson; Seven Grandchildren; Four Great-Grandchildren; Sisters-In-Law, Gladys Manning and Mildred Barefoot; Brother-In-Law, Bo Tart; Several Nieces and Nephews. Family will receive friends from 6:00PM to 8:00PM Friday at Trinity Baptist Church Fellowship Hall in Meadow and other times at the home.
