Christine Langdon Byrd

Angier, NC: Mrs. Christine Langdon Byrd, age 79, passed away on Monday, October 21, 2024 at UNC Johnston Health in Clayton, NC. Graveside Services will be 12:00PM-Friday, October 25, 2024 at Johnson Memorial Church Cemetery at Overflow Church, Angier NC. Rev. Chris Searles will officiate. 

Mrs. Byrd was born on January 6, 1945 in Johnston County, NC to the late Charlie V. and Lillie Bullock Langdon. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Dean Byrd, sister, Mary Frances Langdon Fletcher, and brothers, V. Lloyd Langdon, Charles W. Langdon, David Bruce Langdon, Thomas Harold Langdon. Mrs. Byrd retired from the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services. She was a member of Overflow Church. 

Surviving include her son, Richard Dean Byrd and wife, Shawn of Angier; daughter, Kristey B. Darroch and husband, Hank of Bunnlevel, NC; grandchildren, Anthony D. Byrd and wife, Amanda, Andrew L. Byrd and wife, Morgan, Matthew I. Darroch, Ashley D. Lawson and husband, Connor, and Madison T. Byrd; great-grandchildren, Adalyn I. Byrd, Austin D. Byrd and Aliza Jane Byrd; sister, Peggy L. Williams of Garner, NC; brothers, Roscoe Langdon and wife, Linda of Garner, NC, and Bobby Langdon and wife, Elaine of Matthews, NC; sister-in-law, Betsy Langdon of Clayton, NC; special friend, Eunice Peterson of Benson, NC, and Terry Byrd of Angier, NC; several nieces and nephews. 

The family will receive friends following the graveside service and other times at the home.
