Benson, NC: Ms. Cindy Parker Biggerstaff, age 64, of Parker Mill Road passed away on Friday, September 20, 2024 at Duke Raleigh Hospital surrounded by her loving family. Funeral Services will be held 3:00PM - Tuesday, September 24, 2024 at the Rose and Graham Funeral Home Chapel in Benson. Officiating will be Revs. Billy Nowell and Richard Whitman. Burial will follow in the A. F. Parker Family Cemetery in Benson.
Cindy was born on January 22, 1960 in Johnston County to the late Alsey Franklin and Peggy Sue Barbour Parker. Affectionately known as “Coach B” and “Biggs,” she was a beloved physical education teacher, coach and athletic director in Johnston County Schools for more than 30 years. She was a member of Smyrna OFWB, following in her mother’s footsteps as a Sunday School teacher. Cindy never met an animal that she didn’t love.
Surviving includes her brother, Alsey Franklin Parker, Jr. and wife, Josefina of Raleigh; sisters, Wanda P. Johnson and husband, Brian of Benson and Wendy Parker of Benson; niece and nephew, Amanda Johnson and husband, Matt, and Joshua Johnson; great-nephews, Jude and Cole Johnson; beloved dogs, Hershey and Miss Priss.
The family will receive friends from 5:00PM to 8:00PM on Monday, September 23, 2024 at the Rose & Graham Funeral Home in Benson and other times at the home.
Flowers are welcomed; however, memorials may be made to the Cindy Biggerstaff Memorial Fund at Meadow Elementary School, 7507 NC Hwy 50 South Benson, NC 27504.
The family appreciates the love and support received throughout Cindy’s journey. Prayers are appreciated during this time.
