Clara Elizabeth Young

Raleigh, NC: Mrs. Clara Elizabeth Thornton Young, of Courtland Drive, died November 3, 2019, at Transitions Life Care in Raleigh, NC.  Graveside Service will be 3:00 PM, Wednesday, November 6, 2019, at Thornton Family Cemetery, Golda Road, Benson, NC.  Officiating will be Rev. Michael Bassett.             Mrs. Young was born May 10, 1934 in Johnston County to the late Laudie and Laura Knowles Thornton.  She was also preceded in death by her husband, Carson Duncan Young, Sr.; daughter, Shelby Jean Young; and son, Carson Duncan Young, Jr.  Mrs. Young was a homemaker.             Surviving include her son, David Young and wife, Michelle of Raleigh; grandchildren, Dylan Young and Noah Young; sister, Frances Raynor and husband, John of Benson; nieces, Barbara Ashworth and husband, Jason and Brenda Jernigan and husband, Bruce all of Benson; and nephew, Harold Raynor, Jr. and wife, Jill of Benson.       The family will receive friends 1:15 PM - 2:30 PM at Rose and Graham Funeral Home in Benson prior to the Graveside Service.        Flowers are welcomed; however, memorials may be made to Transitions Life Care, 250 Hospice Circle, Raleigh, NC 27607.        Online condolences may be expressed at www.roseandgraham.com        Arrangements by Rose and Graham Funeral Home in Benson.
