Clenties Whitman

Benson, NC:  Mrs. Clenties West Whitman, age 87, died Friday at Liberty Commons Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Benson.  Funeral Service will be Sunday 3:00PM at Rose and Graham Funeral Chapel in Benson.  Officiating will be Mr. Ronald Wallace and Mrs. Susan Wallace. Burial will follow in Memorial Cemetery in Dunn, NC.           Mrs. Whitman was born April 20, 1930 in Johnston County to the late Chester Ray and Mittie Ryals West. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Thelbert Whitman and daughter, Phyllis W. Sargent.  Mrs. Whitman was a homemaker.           Survivors include daughters and sons-in-law, Sue and A.V. Byrd and Diane and Carlie Wise all of Benson, Shelia and Robert Hall of Coats and Steve Sargent of Fayetteville; 10 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.           The family will receive friends Sunday 2:00PM - 2:45PM prior to the service at Rose and Graham Funeral Home in Benson and other times at the home of Diane and Carlie Wise, 527 Surles Road, Benson, NC 27504.           The family would like to express their sincere thanks to Liberty Commons Nursing & Rehabilitation Center and Harnett Home Health Care for the love and support shown to their loved one.
