Clifton Read Raynor

Mr. Clifton Read Raynor, age 88, of W. Harnett Street died Friday, June 25, 2021 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Funeral Services will be 11:00AM Tuesday, June 29, 2021 at Rose & Graham Funeral Home Chapel in Benson. Officiating will be Revs. Randy Beasley and Della Grace Hargis. Burial will follow in Banner Chapel Advent Christian Church Cemetery in Benson.

Mr. Raynor was born September 26, 1932 in Johnston County to the late Jesse and Liffie Rayner Raynor. He was preceded in death by his son, Ronnie Clifton Raynor and several sisters and brothers. Mr. Raynor retired as the Benson Fire Chief after 25 years of service. He also worked and retired after 56 years as a construction supervisor with Dan C. Austin Associates in Raleigh.

Surviving is his daughter, Marilyn Turnage of Dunn; granddaughter, Lauren Turnage of Dunn and great-grandchildren, DeAnthony Thomas and Trinity Cooper; special friend, Goldie Byrd of Benson and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Monday, June 28, 2021 from 6:00PM to 8:00PM at Rose and Graham Funeral Home in Benson and other times at the home.
