Youngsville, NC: Mr. Clyde Ray Snead, age 88, formally of Smithfield died Wednesday at his residence. Funeral service will be 2:00PM- Saturday at Piney Grove PFWB Church, Four Oaks. Officiating will be Revs. Benny Smith and Glenn Keefer. Burial will follow in church cemetery.
Mr. Snead was born in Johnston County on February 3, 1928 to the late Marvin and Ida Allen Snead. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Edna Earl Lee, Betty Lou Dilahay; brother, Wilbert Snead. Mr. Snead retired from the Utilities Department with the City of Raleigh.
Surviving include; wife of 67 years, Elouise Byrd Snead of Youngsville; sons and daughters-in-law, Jerry and Brenda Snead and Larry and Judy Snead all of Youngsville; three grandchildren and spouses, Chris and Stephanie Snead of Wake Forest, John and Leighann Snead of Knightdale, Joseph and Tilly Broughton of Raleigh; four great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn Snead, Haley Snead, Victoria W. Davidson, Taylor Winn; special daughter, Laura Byrd and son, Ian Locklear of Laurinburg; sisters, Lucy Willis of Hatteras, Faye Smith of Angier; brother, Fetus Snead of Smithfield; several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at Rose & Graham Funeral Home in Four Oaks Friday from 6:00PM to 8:00PM.
