Angier NC: Mr. Colby James Matthews, age 26 a resident of RHA Howell-Walnut Creek Center formerly of Angier received his angel wings on Thursday, January 22, 2015 at Transitions Life Care in Raleigh. A Celebration of Life Service will be held Friday, January 23, 2015 at 7:00PM in the chapel of Rose & Graham Funeral Home in Coats. A private graveside service will be held at Lakeside Memorial Gardens in Angier.
Colby was born January 21, 1989 in Wake County to Michael Graham Matthews of Coats and Michelle Champion Wortham of Coats. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Linda Mills Champion and paternal grandfather, Teddy Graham Matthews.
Surviving in addition to his parents are sister, Tori Matthews of Angier, brother, Austin Matthews of Angier; maternal grandfather, Alfred Champion of Angier; paternal grandmother, Linda Matthews of Coats. Several devoted aunts and uncles and many special friends.
The family also wishes to thank the staff of RHA Howell-Walnut Creek Center for their love and care for Colby as well as the Hill Top Home in Raleigh.
The family will receive friends immediately following the service at Rose & Graham Funeral Home in Coats on Friday evening and other times at the home of Michelle Wortham 133 Blair Drive, Angier, NC 27501.
In lieu of flowers the family suggest memorials be sent in memory of Colby to RHA Howell Center 5709 US 70, Goldsboro, NC 27534 or to Hill Top Home, PO Box 46479, Raleigh, NC 27620.
