Cornelius "Sam" Allen

Four Oaks, NC: Mr. Cornelius Alton "Sam" Allen, age 83, passed away on Monday at UNC Rex Healthcare in Raleigh.  Funeral Service will be 11:00 AM Thursday at Rose & Graham Funeral Chapel in Benson.  Rev. Glenn McCullen will officiate. Burial will follow in Roselawn Cemetery.             Mr. Allen was born March 12, 1934 in Johnston County to the late Alton Allen and Bevie Allen Thornton.  He was preceded in death by his sister, Elizabeth Terry.  Mr. Allen was the owner and operator of Allen's L.P. Gas in the Blackman's Crossroads Community.  Survivors include sister, Dorothy Allen; brother, Glenn Thornton; nephew, Russell Thornton all of Benson; niece, Phyllis Ellis of Texas. Family will receive friends from 9:45 AM to 10:45 AM Thursday prior to the service at Rose & Graham Funeral Home in Benson.
