Coats, NC: Mr. Dana Neil Meredith, age 74, of Dura-Bilt Lane passed away on Sunday, December 10, 2023 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. Memorial Services will be held 1:00PM – Saturday, December 16, 2023 at Pleasant Memory Baptist Church. Officiating will be Revs. Dan Deaton, Steve Pascal, and Dudley Neal.
Dana was born on September 8, 1949 in Newport News, Virginia to the late Julian Earl, Sr. and Helen Bowe Meredith. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Vivian Flath and Linda Blackman. Dana’s greatest passion in life was passing on his knowledge to others and retired as a professor of Industrial Systems Technology with Sampson Community College and Campbell University. He was a member of Pleasant Memory Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon and in many other capacities. Dana was also a missionary in Honduras and other locations including the East Coast. He was an avid outdoorsman, and a master of the industrial trades. After all his accomplishments and experiences in life the greatest decision he made was to lead a faith-based life.
Surviving include his wife of 53 years, Margaret Fisher Meredith; children, Michelle M. Anfuso and husband, Joseph, Dana Neil Meredith, Jr. and wife, Kim, Matthew Aaron Meredith and wife, Sharon; grandchildren, Mariah Meredith, Macey Meredith, Dylan Meredith, William Meredith, Brielle Anfuso; brother, Julian Earl Meredith, Jr. and wife, Sherry; sisters, Dianne Scott and husband, Richard, Brenda Floyd and husband, Joe; and many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends following the memorial service in the church fellowship hall and other times at the home.
