Danny Lee Barnes

Benson, NC: Mr. Danny Lee Barnes, passed away on Monday, January 31, 2022 at his residence. Funeral Services will be 4:00PM-Friday, February 4, 2022 at Rose & Graham Funeral Chapel in Benson, NC.  Mr. Barry Barbour will officiate.

Mr. Barnes was born on August 2, 1952 in Harnett County to the late Howard Lee and Sally Mae Goodwin Barnes.  He was preceded in death by his son, David Lee Barnes and his brother, Howard Donnie Barnes. Mr. Barnes was a retired independent distributor, working with Wonder Bread, Flowers Distributors and Krispy Kreme.  He enjoyed golf, racing and Wolfpack Sports. 

Surviving include his wife of 4 years, Polly Benson Barnes, children, Cindie Hill and Danny M. Barnes and wife, Sandy, step-children, Karen Neighbors and husband, Glenn, Matthew Elliott and wife, Katie, Candi Long and husband, John, and Garth Lanning and fiancée, Heather Lawrence; grandchildren, Amanda Hill, Madeline Barnes, Kennedy Barnes, Joshua Neighbors, Sarah Jon Neighbors, Lindsay Long, Emma Long, John Patrick Long, Kye Lanning and Ansley Lanning; sister-in-law, Sandra Benson; special aunt, Hazel Wood; several nieces and nephews; special pet, Fritz Barnes. 

The family will receive friends immediately following the funeral service at Rose & Graham Funeral Home in Benson, NC and other times at the home. 

Flowers are welcomed; however, memorials may be sent to the Johnston County EMS, PO Box 530 Smithfield, NC 27577.  

In accordance with the NC COVID 19 guidelines, the funeral home suggests practicing social distancing guidelines. Masks are not required for all services but kindly recommended.
