Smithfield, NC: Mrs. Della Grace Wilson Stewart, age 100, of 301 West Wilson Street went home to be with the Lord Thursday at the SECU Hospice House in Smithfield. Funeral Service will be Monday 2:00PM at Benson Pentecostal Holiness Church. Entombment will follow in Roselawn Cemetery, Benson. Officiating will be the Rev. Mark Fields and Dr. Sam Weeks.
Mrs. Stewart was born on March 29, 1916 in Johnston County to the late James E. and Maggie McLamb Wilson. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Hartwell Ray Stewart and sisters, Claudia Johnson, Alma Johnson, Christine Thompson and Mary Belle Bostic. Mrs. Stewart was a retired teacher where she taught in many public schools and many states. With her husband being a minister, she also served in many capacities and states with the Women’s Ministries of the Pentecostal Holiness Church. She was a charter member of Benson Pentecostal Holiness Church.
Surviving are sons and daughter-in-law, Jim and Sandra Stewart of Clayton; David Stewart of Smithfield; brother and sister-in-law, J.E. and Lois Wilson of Smithfield; grandson and wife, Jim and Asha Worley of Clayton; great-grandsons, Brandon Gildersleeve and Paul Worley: many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Monday 1:00PM - 1:45PM prior to the service at Benson Pentecostal Holiness Church, 8991 NC Hwy 27 E, Benson, NC 27504 and other times at home.
