Donald Barbour

Benson: Mr. Donald Richardson Barbour, age 64, of 494 Stephenson Road died Thursday, March 14, 2013, at VA Medical Center in Durham. Funeral Service will be 11:00AM Monday, March 18, 2013 at Rose & Graham Funeral Chapel. Officiating will be Rev. Mike Courtney.  Burial will follow in Hannah’s Creek Church Cemetery with full military honors. Mr. Barbour was born May 6, 1948 in Johnston County to the late Vonzo and Louise Turner Barbour.  He was also preceded in death by a brother, Mitchell Barbour.  Mr. Barbour was the owner and operator of Donald Barbour Drywall.  He served in the U. S. Marines during the Vietnam Era where he was awarded a Purple Heart and two Bronze Stars.  Mr. Barbour was a member of Hannah’s Creek Church. Surviving are wife of 13 years, JoAnne Keith Barbour; Sons & Daughters-in-law, Marc & Kimberly Barbour of Myrtle Beach and Scott & Jane Barbour of Benson; 5 Grandchildren, Courtney Barbour, Aleena Barbour, Danielle Myers, Duncan Barbour and Connor Barbour; Sisters & Brothers-in-law, Shirley & Horace Lee of Four Oaks, Linda & Jerry Don McLamb of Benson, and Janet & Roger Townsend of Angier; and Several Nieces and Nephews. The family will receive friends at Rose & Graham Funeral Home in Benson from 6:00PM to 8:00PM Sunday, March 17, 2013, and other times at the home of Scott & Jane Barbour, 500 Stephenson Road, Benson, NC.
