Donald Gale Barefoot

Benson, NC: Mr. Donald Gale (D.G.) Barefoot, age 67, of Godwin Lake Road passed away on Friday, August 28, 2020 at his residence.  Graveside Funeral Service will be held 2:00PM-Monday, August 31, 2020 at the Lee-Johnson Family Cemetery, Dunn. Rev. Michael Lee will officiate.                Mr. Barefoot was born on June 15, 1953 in Harnett County to his mother, Grace Parker Barefoot of Benson and to his late father, Robey Edward Barefoot. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, RoHo Barefoot and Johnny Edward Barefoot. Mr. Barefoot was a chicken farmer, owned and operated Barefoot Farms, and was an avid fisherman.             Surviving in addition to his mother are his wife of 46 years, Carol B. Barefoot; sons, Brice Edward Barefoot and wife, Elizabeth of Beaufort, NC, Bret Leon Barefoot and wife, Kelli of Benson; grandchildren, Collin Scott Barefoot, Ava Grace Barefoot, Ren MacKesson Barefoot, Grace Elizabeth Barefoot; sister, Sonya B. Wall and husband, Ronnie of Benson; several nieces and nephews; brothers and sisters-in-law, Larry Vinson Barefoot, Cathy Jo Barefoot, and Linda Lunney Barefoot; and his faithful dog, Leon.             Mr. Barefoot will lie in state from 12:00 Noon to 5:00PM at Rose & Graham Funeral Home in Benson on Sunday, August 30, 2020. The family will not be present during this time.          In accordance with NC-COVID19 guidelines, the funeral home suggests practicing social distancing guidelines and the three W's: wait, wash, and wear a face covering.             Flowers are welcomed; however, memorials may be made to Davis Island Fishing Foundation and Scholarships, P.O.
