Donald Scott Benson

Four Oaks, NC:  Mr. Donald Scott Benson, age 54, of NC-96 S passed away on Sunday, December 17, 2023. A Memorial Service will be held-6:00 PM Friday, December 22, 2023 at Beulah Hill Christian Church in Four Oaks. Officiating will be Rev. Sam Blackman.

Scott was born on September 3, 1969 in Johnston County to the late, Donald Hicks Benson and to Sharon Hill Benson. Along with his father, he was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Willis and Pauline Benson; his maternal grandparents, Roger and Catherine Hill; uncle, Gene Hill; and his special dog, Reno. He was a compassionate, intelligent, and intentional person who loved the beach, fishing, and was an avid Tarheel Fan. He was a graduate of South Johnston High School Class of 1987 and then joined the air force, received his Bachelor’s Degree from Wesleyan University, and most recently achieved his Master’s Degree from Liberty University. He loved his children, grandchildren, and his mother more than anything. He will be remembered as a loving father, son, grandfather, and friend.

Surviving includes his son, Clint Benson of Four Oaks; daughter, Katie Barefoot and husband, Tyler, of Four Oaks; mother, Sharon Hill Benson, of Four Oaks; grandchildren, Ellery Barefoot, Maverick Barefoot, Jameslee Barefoot, and Ridge Barefoot,  all of Four Oaks; as well as many cousins and friends.

The Family will recieve friends immediately following the service.
