Donald Powell

Coats, NC: Mr. Donald W. Powell, age 87, of 1193 Old Stage Road, passed away Thursday, December 26, 2019 at Central Harnett Hospital in Lillington, NC. A Graveside Service will be 2:00 PM Sunday, December 29, 2019 at Coats City Cemetery in Coats, NC. Rev. Ken Dalton will officiate.               Mr. Powell was born on May 4, 1932 in Johnston County, NC to the late Kelly Preston and Flora Ennis Powell. He is also preceded in death by his wife, Beverly Ann Davis Powell, grandson, Jonathan W. Powell, and 8 siblings. He retired serving in our nations Air Force and later retired again from the US Postal Service.             Surviving are his sons and daughters-in-law; Rich Powell and wife, Donna of Texas; Don Powell, Jr. and wife, Nancy of Coats; and Randy Powell and wife, Sherri of Virginia; eleven grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; and close friends: Allen and Diana Danenburg.             The family will receive friends prior to the Graveside Service from 1:00 PM to 1:45 PM at Rose and Graham Funeral Home in Coats.             Flowers are welcomed; however, memorials may be made to St. Judes Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.     Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.roseandgraham.com     Arrangements by Rose & Graham Funeral Home in Coats, NC
