Donald Ray Bailey

Benson:  Mr. Donald Ray Bailey, age 89, of 719 Bailey's Crossroads Road died Monday at his home surrounded by his family.  Funeral Services will be 11:00 AM, Thursday, May 26 at Ebenezer Presbyterian Church, Benson, NC.  Officiating will be Rev. Jason Hammersley. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.     Mr. Donald Ray Bailey was born on January 7, 1927 in Johnston County to the late Luther Waylon and Zula Belle Medlin Bailey.  He was also preceded in death by his brother, Glenard Bailey and sister, Joyce Bailey Fleming.  Mr. Bailey, an alumnae of UNC Chapel Hill, retired from Federal Civil Service, ROTC Personnel Branch, and he was an instructor in the US Army Reserves, Warrant Officer IV, and was a member of Ebenezer Presbyterian Church.     Surviving are his wife of sixty-one years, Lector L. Bailey; daughters and son-in-law, Cindy Bailey and Jerry Grunewald of Wilmington, Delaware and Donna Bailey-Taylor of Benson; grandchildren, Trey Taylor, Chris Grunewald, and Jonathan Grunewald; sister, Ernestine Clodfelter of Raleigh; and several nieces and nephews. A special thanks to caregivers Brenda Faye Jones, Darlene Scott, and Judy Adams.     The family will receive friends and family at Ebenezer Presbyterian Church Thursday, May 26th from 10:00 am to 10:45 am, and other times at the home.     In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Ebenezer Presbyterian Church, P. O.
