Dorothy Ann Lassiter Blackmon

Four Oaks: Mrs. Dorothy Ann Lassiter Blackmon, age 95, passed away on Wednesday, March 2, 2022 at her residence surrounded by her loving family.  Graveside Funeral Services will be 1:00PM-Monday, March 7, 2022 at Pisgah Baptist Church Cemetery, 3689 NC HWY 210, Smithfield, NC 27577.  Rev. Lester Dwayne Goff will officiate.

Mrs. Blackmon was born on April 8, 1926 in Johnston County, NC to the late Robert Arthur and Annie Ava Jones Lassiter.  She was also preceded in death by her husband, Jasper Riley “J.R.” Blackmon and sisters, Eloise Massengill and Mary Lou Dentz.  Mrs. Blackmon was a homemaker and a retired farmer's wife.  She was a member of Pisgah Baptist Church, where she served in many capacities. 

Surviving include her children, Tony Blackmon and wife, Sally of Four Oaks; Rob Blackmon and wife, Becky of Raleigh, and Ann Lancaster and husband, Doug of Swansboro; grandchildren, Sandy Hendrix and husband, Paul, David Blackmon and wife, Amy, Amy Sarazen and husband, Paul, and Ryan Blackmon and wife, Leigh Ann; thirteen great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.                            

There will be an open- door visitation from 8:00AM to 12:00PM on Monday, March 7, 2022 at Rose and Graham Funeral Home in Four Oaks, NC. The family will not be present during this time.  

The family will receive friends immediately following the graveside service on Monday at Pisgah Baptist Church Cemetery and other times at the home.

The family wishes to thank special caregivers, Melissa, Bethany, Charlie, Della, Nan and Kim for all their love shown to their mother.  They also wish to express thanks to Liberty Hospice for their care and support shown to Mrs. Blackmon.
