Dorothy Esther "Dottie" Mitchell Gonzales

Newton Grove, NC: Mrs. Dorothy Esther “Dottie” Mitchell Gonzales passed away on Thursday, March 28, 2024 at her residence.  Funeral Services will be 2:00PM-Monday, April 1, 2024 at Rose and Graham Funeral Chapel in Benson, NC.  Rev. Ron Godwin will officiate. Burial will follow in Unity Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Newton Grove, NC.

Mrs. Gonzales was born on May 22, 1956 in Johnston County, NC to the late James Albert and Janie Lee Jernigan Mitchell. She was also preceded in death by her son, Eddie Horne, and her brother, Orlando Gene Mitchell. Mrs. Gonzales was a retired waitress and cook. She enjoyed baking, music and spending time with her family. 

Survivors include her daughters, Juanita Velasco and husband, Mauricio; Sandy Gonzales, and Janie Osorio; grandchildren, Samantha Gonzales, Joselyn Velasco, Alex Gonzales, Eric Nieto, Gabriela Nieto, Lilliana Granados, and Pedro Granados; two great-grandchildren, Miguel Orozco, and Angelina Porto; brothers, Johnny Mitchell and wife, Brenda, and Larry Mitchell and wife, Dale; many nieces and nephews. 

The family will receive friends from 6:00PM-8:00PM-Sunday, March 31, 2024 at Rose and Graham Funeral Home in Benson, NC and other times at the home 2322 Eldridge Road, Newton Grove, NC 28366.
