Dorothy Robinson

Mrs. Dorothy Alice Middlestetter Robinson, age 93 passed away Saturday at her residence.  Graveside Funeral Service will be held 1:00 PM Tuesday at Green Hills Cemetery in Asheville, NC. The family will officiate.Dorothy grew up in Los Angeles with two sisters and one brother in the middle of the depression.  After high school, she enrolled in nursing school but quit prior to her marriage to Theodore Robinson in 1942 before he left for WWII.  Her life as a military wife was something she loved and talked about to anyone that wanted to hear. She traveled the world, raising four children and working as a telephone operator, factor worker, and a seamstress.  She loved to cook, sew and crochet, taking gourmet cooking classes at the community college; making clothes for children in her church or making lap blankets for the DAV.  She was a devoted wife, mother and relished the time she could spend with her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Theodore Robinson, son, Christopher Robinson, siblings, Virginia Cody, Marilyn LeBreton, Norman Middlestetter.Surviving are her children, Christine Gregory (Dale Wheeler) of the home; Curtis Robinson (Candace McGhee)  of Raleigh; and Carl and Jena Robinson of Texas; thirteen grandchildren and ten great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM Monday at Rose and Graham Funeral Home in Benson.The family wishes to thank special caregivers, Delois, Cora, and Pam for their devotion to mother over the past year. We also wish to extend our thanks to all friends and coworkers for their support and encouragement.Service Information
