Earl Leonard Honeycutt

Dunn, NC: Mr. Earl Leonard Honeycutt, age 93, passed away on Sunday, June 23, 2024 at Liberty Commons Nursing and Rehabilitation in Benson. Funeral Services will be held-11:00 AM Wednesday, June 26, 2024 at Benson Baptist Church. Officiating will be Rev. Dr. Lawrence Powers. Entombment will follow at Roselawn Cemetery in Benson. 

Mr. Honeycutt was born on December 21, 1930 in Harnett County to the late Lemuel D. and Rebecca Liza Lockamy Honeycutt. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Hilda Lawhorn Honeycutt; sisters, Esther Precopio and Myrtle Lee; and brother, Alfred D. Honeycutt. Earl was a sales representative for Bowman products for 20 years and manager of Motor Bearings Store in Rocky Mount for 17 years. He was a member of the Lions Club for over 35 years and an active member of Edgemont Baptist Church in Rocky Mount and a current member of Benson Baptist Church in Benson. Earl enjoyed music, especially, Gospel music. He sang in the choir of Edgemont Baptist and Benson Baptist churches for many years. He enjoyed breakfast with his Erwin friends at Burger King where they met almost every morning when he was able. His granddaughter, Greta, and grandson, Joshua, were the loves of his life. 

Survivors include his son, Dwight Leonard Honeycutt and wife, Rev. Jeanette Stokes of Durham; grandchildren, Joshua Wood Honeycutt and Greta Lawhorn Honeycutt and husband, Michael Rourke, Jr.; and many nieces and nephews. 

The family will receive friends from 10:00AM-10:45AM-Wednesday, June 26, 2024 in Benson Baptist Church Fellowship Hall prior to the service. 

Flowers are welcomed; however, memorials may be made to Benson Baptist Church, P.O. Box 323, Benson, NC 27504.
