Edgar Durwood Dixon

Four Oaks: Mr. Edgar Durwood Dixon, age 70, of 5502 US 301 S, died Thursday, May 23, 2019 at Durham VA Hospice Hospital in Durham, NC. Graveside services will be held 2:00 PM, Saturday, May 25, 2019 at Four Oaks City Cemetery in Four Oaks. Officiating will be Rev. Dennis Pollock.                     Mr. Dixon was born on October 10, 1948 in Wayne County. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Melvin and Lena Thompson Dixon; and brother, Dusty Dixon. He retired from residential construction and Johnston County. Mr. Dixon was a Vietnam War Army Veteran.                Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Jeanette M. Dixon; daughter, Jennifer D. Hayes of Four Oaks; granddaughter, Emma Brook Hayes; sisters, Elizabeth Casey of Garner; Gail Holloway and husband, Fred of Wilmington; brothers, Wayne Dixon and wife, Hannah of Goldsboro; Danny Ray Dixon of Princeton; Allan Dixon and wife, Diane of Princeton; and several beloved nieces and nephews.              The family will receive friends from 12:30PM to 1:30PM Saturday, May 25, 2019 at Rose and Graham Funeral Chapel in Four Oaks and other times at the home.                              Flowers are welcomed; however; memorials may be made to Disabled American Veterans P.O.
