Elizabeth Nell Franke

Willow Spring, NC: Ms. Elizabeth Nell Franke, age 75, passed away at her residence on Saturday, December 16, 2023 surrounded by her loving family.  Funeral Services will be 12:00 Noon on Wednesday, December 20, 2023 at Providence Presbyterian Church in Angier.  Burial will follow in Montlawn Cemetery in Raleigh. Rev. Roger Korsten will officiate.

Nell was born on September 11, 1948 in Wake County, NC to the late Henry Nelson Franke, Jr. and Dorothy Harris Nesselrodt. She was preceded in death by her step-father, Rev. J. D. Nesselrodt. Nell graduated from Cleveland High School in 1967. Before retirement, she worked for Durham Life, Protective Life and Lawyer’s Weekly as an administrative assistant. She had served as an ordained elder at St. Barnabas Presbyterian Church in Raleigh where she was an active member for many years. Nell has been an active member of Providence Presbyterian Church for the last 25 years where she sang in the choir and was the treasurer of the Presbyterian Women. She received the Honorary Life Membership by the Presbyterian Women. She was a member of Chapter 366 Order of the Eastern Star in Cary. Nell was a faithful daughter, sister, and aunt.

Nell is survived by her brother, Russell Wood and wife, Elaine of Willow Spring; nephews, Jeffrey Wood of Willow Spring and Robbie Wood of Benson; aunts, Laura Dupree of Raleigh and Mary Toler of Grantsboro.

The family will receive friends from 6:00PM to 8:00PM on Tuesday, December 19, 2023 at Rose & Graham Funeral Home in Benson and other times at the home of Russell and Elaine Wood.  

Flowers are welcomed; however, memorials may be made to Providence Presbyterian Church Generosity Initiative, 14664 NC 210 Hwy, Angier, NC 27501.
