Emily Ruth Allen Keene

 Four Oaks, NC: Mrs. Emily Ruth Allen Keene, age 51, passed away on Sunday, June 23, 2024 at her residence surrounded by her loving husband, and family. Funeral Services will be 12:00PM, Wednesday, June 26, 2024 at Overflow Church 8280 NC HWY 50 N, Angier, NC 27501. Rev. Jonathan Hoefer, and Rev. Hugo Zacarias will officiate. Burial will follow in the Keene Family Cemetery, Four Oaks, NC.

 Emily was born on July 7, 1972 in Johnston County, NC. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, S.D. and Carolyn Allen, and Marion and Ruth Godwin, father-in-law and mother-in-law, Rev. Billy and Judy Keene. A graduate of Smithfield Selma High School, she continued her education at East Carolina University with a degree in education. Emily was a retired 6th-grade Language Arts Teacher at Cleveland Middle, where she loved spending time nurturing every child that entered her classroom. Her faith, her family, and her church were very important to her. Emily was a member of Overflow Church, where she was eager to get involved in serving others.

Survivors include her husband of 28 years, Wesley Keene, parents, Stephen Ray, Sr. and Wilma Godwin Allen; brother, Stephen Ray Allen, II, and wife, Jennifer; special nieces and nephews, Sydney Allen, Haylie Albright, Ethan Albright, Jeremy Tyler Keene, Gavin Keene, Ella Keene and Owen Keene; brother-in-law, Jeremy Keene and wife, Michelle; several aunts, uncles, and cousins. 

The family will receive friends from 6:00PM-8:00PM-Tuesday, June 25, 2024 at Rose and Graham Funeral Home in Four Oaks, NC, and other times at the home. 

Flowers are welcomed; however, memorials may be made to Overflow Recovery Cancer Support Group 8280 NC HWY 50, N. Angier, NC 27501.
