Emmett Gearld Stephenson

Benson, NC: Mr. Emmett Gerald Stephenson, age 73, of 2128 Wood’s Crossroads died Monday at his residence. Funeral services will be 3:00PM Thursday at the Rose & Graham Funeral Chapel in Benson. Officiating will be Rev. Billy Hundley. Entombment will follow in Roselawn Cemetery. Mr. Stephenson was born June 29, 1939 in Johnston County to the late Harvey C. and Alma Davis Stephenson. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Janice J. Stephenson and a brother, Bobby Stephenson. Mr. Stephenson retired from the North Carolina Department of Corrections and was a member of Jonesboro Baptist Church.  He served in the National Guard and the U. S. Army and was a member of American Legion Banner Post 109. Surviving include Daughters and Sons-In-Law, Kimberly S. and Keith Allen, Jamie S. and Bradley Sutton, all of Benson; Grandchildren, Kristopher Allen, Kaylee Allen, Jenna Sutton, Chloe Sutton, and Bayla Sutton; Sisters, Brenda Wells of Benson, Doris Pierce of Bunnlevel, Dorothy Jackson of Clinton; Dora Baker of Four Oaks, Jean Pleasant of Dunn, and Linda Stanley of Smithfield; Brothers, Billy Stephenson of Benson and Darwin Stephenson of Wendell; and Several Nieces and Nephews. Family will receive friends from 7:00PM to 9:00PM Wednesday at Rose & Graham Funeral Home in Benson.
